These are all works produced for, and premiered by, the Greenville County Youth Orchestra. Works for full orchestra include doublings of wind parts and cueing of wind solos. For each piece you will receive a bound, large-format (legal size) full score, and 1 copy of each part for you to photocopy as needed for your group. All of these works are available only from me; recordings are available for all.

Co-Variants (1989), for orchestra, about 7 minutes. Two themes developed continuously; allegro, with slow intro and ending; ends in vigorous fugato. Includes synthesizer part, playable on piano. In manuscript, but neat and readable; 11x17 score. Fairly difficult. $20.

Rondo Bacchanale (1992), for violin solo, timpani, and strings, about 41/2 minutes.. (excerpt, violin solo) Violin showpiece (for student or professional soloist), in a vigorous 3/4, with very substantial parts for timpani and string orchestra. Quick and motoric. Timpanist must play some other percussion instruments (especially tambourine); part can be divided between 2 players if desired. $20.

Soliloquy (1992), for orchestra, about 6:10. Slow movement, w/slightly faster middle section. (score excerpt) Includes synth part, which is important but playable very effectively on piano. Some short, cued wind solos; can be performed entirely without winds or brass, but piano/synth and 4 percussionists are necessary. $25.

In Pursuit (1994), for orchestra, about 7:55. Up-tempo concert overture, brief slow introduction, vigorous ending in 5/4. (score excerpt) Includes some programmatic novelties such as whistling, flash cameras, and a part for skillsaw (not used near string instruments). 5 percussion parts, including keyboard perc.; trumpet solo; other shorter solos for winds. Includes synth part, non-essential. Commemorates 20th anniversary of Greenville Fine Arts Center. Programmed by the Greenville Symphony Orchestra in January of 1997. $30; excellent recording by the GSO available.

Felis Imperius (1997), for chamber orchestra, about 8:15. (score excerpt) One each of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and percussion. Percussionist is kept very busy; part could be split between 2 players. Cartoon-like gestures and textures, and humorous programatic content (title refers to Felis domesticus, the household cat). Moderate tempo, lots of color and effects. Moderately difficult; requires good woodwind players, all of whom have uncued solos. $25.
